I love videogames. I am embarassed to say I didn't know about itch.io until recently now I will play your games (especially adult unfinished ones where I don't have to worry about alerting my friends to what I am playing and/or removing the game from steam when an unknown rule is broken or forcing censorship after release.
I click just download game and if I like your game I will genuinely come back and pay you for it later. The amount I pay and whether or not I join your patreon is directly related to how good I think your game is. I will also do my best to give you honest feedback (always blunt and critical without being too harsh) I have alpha and beta tested hundreds of games and used to review games professionally on a website I co-owned with a friend. Unfortunately I realized I don't have the work ethic to keep up a site with deadlines myself (professional procrastinator) but I haven't lost my keen eye for detail and the feedback I give you comes from 30+ years of playing videogames so I would recommend taking it seriously.
When I play your game even if I don't end up liking it (or perhaps especially if I don't) I will still give you honest feedback based off of the quality of the game itself and not my personal preference. This is my biggest pet peeve with the gaming industry. A reviewer raves about the quality of a game for most of review then has a random paragraph in the middle where they briefly complain that they didn't like the story and wished the camera was better. Suddenly they rate a game a 5 out of 10 when it should be at least a 7. If you like 75% of the game and only dislike one minor aspect that doesn't deserve a game getting a terrible score. I find these types of reviewers unprofessional and reprehensible and it is a large part of why I stopped reviewing games professionally.
I am terrible at Dark Souls but you will never hear me bash the game because I know it is a masterpiece of game design. It doesn't matter if I am good at it or not. The controls, game mechanics, atmosphere, music and creative boss fights more than make up for any minor grievances I would have. Not to mention the camera follows the character properly which is critical in a roguelike style game like that.
